Keep song-level progress comparable
Use interactive lessons for supported note and timing feedback, and a separate schedule for passages you choose. Compare attempts on the same passage with the tempo recorded; a faster setting, an easier arrangement and better technique are not interchangeable outcomes.
Sample request
"Build a guitar-practice history with dated attempt ID, instrument, song, chord/rhythm or melody/lead task, passage, tempo in BPM, actual minutes, technique note and next focus, preserving each attempt without averaging different tempos into a mastery score."
Suggested fields: Song; passage; tempo; minutes; technique note; next focus.
Proposed checks with fictional data:
| Fictional input or edit | Expected result to check | If it differs |
|---|
| Two attempts on one passage at 60 and 80 BPM | Separate records with their tempo and notes | Keep the attempt ID instead of overwriting the song |
| Add a different song with the same passage number | Its history remains separate | A measure number alone is not a unique record |
| Leave the next focus unresolved | The question stays open after practice ends | Completion time cannot establish technique |
Illustrative fifteen-minute routine: five minutes of slow passage work, five minutes connecting it to the next section and five minutes of an easy run-through.
Keep slow and faster attempts separate. A passage that succeeds only slowly gives a specific next practice task; averaging its attempts into one success score would hide the tempo at which it breaks down.
